MONROVIA-Liberia Amputee National Team head coach Victor P.H.B. Benson has announced his final 15-man squad for the 2026 Amputee World Cup in Mexico.

Captain Matthew Joe, who plies his trade with Pendik in Turkey, headlines the squad which comprises four foreign-based and 11 home-based players.

Joining Joe from abroad are Delvin M. Jusu (Konya, Turkey), Darlington Vangalove Sebeh (Bursa, Turkey) and Morilai R. Boakai (Konya, Turkey).

The local contingent is made up of Benedict Kollie Karbah, Isaac Tokpah, Prince Wymah, Emmanuel Paye, Junior Melawon, Moses Nuah, Matthew Bucket, Varsay Sirleaf, Emmanuel Blah, Alfred Kollie and Francis Fallah from LASA, Survival and Conquerors.

Benson said the selection was based on current form, discipline and experience.

"We have selected players who are ready to fight for the country. This is our final battle squad for Mexico. We call on all Liberians and the government to support the team," he said.

The team will travel to Accra, Ghana, in the coming days to process their visas before heading to Mexico. Preparations have intensified, with the squad recently undergoing X-ray examinations alongside regular training, physical conditioning and recovery sessions.

Liberia are in Group A alongside hosts Mexico, Italy and Algeria. The tournament will run from November 13-22 in San Juan de los Lagos, with 24 nations, including seven from Africa, vying for the world title.

The Lone Star Amputees booked their ticket to Mexico after finishing in the top six at the African Amputee Football Cup.
