British Ambassador to Liberia Paul Richard Simister has visited the Girls’ Empowerment Through Football Camp, throwing his support behind an initiative that uses sport, education and mentorship to equip young Liberian girls with the confidence and skills needed to pursue their ambitions.
The camp, led by Liberia Football Association (LFA) Third Vice President Jodie Reid-Seton, brings together young girls through football while incorporating lessons on education, personal development, leadership and character building.
During his engagement with participants, Ambassador Simister encouraged the girls to remain committed to their education while pursuing their football ambitions, emphasizing that success requires discipline, perseverance, hard work and confidence.
He urged the young participants to recognize and take advantage of opportunities capable of improving their lives, stressing that their aspirations should extend beyond the football pitch.
The British envoy also encouraged the girls to believe in themselves and remain determined in the face of challenges, noting that personal discipline and continuous learning are essential ingredients for long-term success.
