MONROVIA, Liberia — The Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has announced plans to convene an Opposition Round Table and a separate engagement with political parties as part of efforts to strengthen opposition collaboration and promote national dialogue in Liberia.
The opposition coalition said its Political Leader and Standard Bearer, former President George Manneh Weah, along with the CDC’s National Executive Committee, extends appreciation to stakeholders who have accepted an invitation to participate in the Opposition Round Table scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Jamaica Resort.
According to the CDC, the roundtable will be followed by a broader meeting with political parties on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 4:00 PM, also at Jamaica Resort.
The CDC said the two-day engagements are intended to provide a platform for political stakeholders to discuss issues of national importance, strengthen dialogue, and deepen cooperation among opposition forces.
The party emphasized that the meetings are part of ongoing efforts to consolidate opposition solidarity in responding to what it described as Liberia’s prevailing governance challenges while advancing the collective interests of the Liberian people.
The CDC expressed gratitude to participating stakeholders and political parties for their willingness to take part in the process, stressing the importance of democratic engagement, national dialogue, and political cooperation.
The planned meetings come as Liberia’s political landscape continues to witness increased discussions among opposition actors over governance, accountability, and strategies for greater political coordination.
